The other is to actively use the contingency.I do everything I can to the very least so as not to compromise the function, but later accept what happens by chance.I am committed to creating a workable environment for craftsmen, but I can not control their emotions.
Consistent thoughts in these are to do your best and leave the rest to Providence. This providence is an important element that creates unquestionable architecture. I think this sensitivity is unique to the Japanese.
Now, this providence is hard to accept. Because things that can not be controlled in a society where anxiety increases are mostly avoided. However, most of human richness is born in this uncontrollable world, namely in nature. Those who are creating not only architects but also something will end up just going around the same path unless they challenge them boldly.
We have been asked to issue the same answer promptly and accurately from a young age. However, with the advent of AI its value will almost disappear in the next few years.The time that AI will monopolize the work that is going to answer a predetermined harmony according to a certain rule will not be so far.
Now, the work of many architects is almost like this. Practice problems (concepts) according to given tasks (requests and budgets) and give answers at the work site. The answer has a planned correct answer. So easy to understand and easy to meet expectations. If this is the architect's main work, architects will almost not be needed in the near future. Probably many architects are aware of that. However, some people pretend not to notice because that person is more likely to work. There are also people who can not get the way out of there.
Everyone can easily understand the architecture that only gives answers. It is the moment that architecture has become a tool for clients, and for others it simply has become information. There is no feeling of love, honor and admiration for architecture there.
I think that it is because the architect himself sees architecture as information only when looking at such a architecture. They are interested in superficial colors and patterns when choosing materials, but they are insensitive to existence as one individual. Although this may be the sensibility unique to the Japanese, it seems that there is a tendency to catch things by two dimensions absolutely. It is acceptable as individuality in the world of painting, but it is quite impossible to bring that sensibility in the architecture as it is. It is not good to ignore the presence and reality as things. It is not good to design natural materials as color or pattern. Even us would not want to be judged only by appearance. A shallow plot in front of nature quickly reveals identity.
Recently, I often hear the word "understand ~" in the conversation. This roots is the same as "Like". For example, what if you say "feel" in a conversation? I think the person who is said are quite ill. It is because everyone knows that 'feeling' is so private that it can not share or sympathize.
They are almost useless because they are difficult to become majority in a capitalist society. Naturally, the education we received has also been evaluated as "understanding".
Now we are very clumsy to 'feel'. The impression is not only concerts, amusement parks, ramen shops available for queues. Every day in the house we can produce small emotions. It is our architect 's work to make that device. However, architect oneself does not know how to make. This is because they receive only education of "like" resisting competition. I am seized with a just just superficial thing and want to get "like".
Our main battleground is not the screen of a smartphone or a personal computer. It is not even a model, presentation or magazine. It is the housing of the full size house. Let's make things "feel" in real life. Let's think about how to make it more seriously. It's boring if you say "understand" easily. That is the work of the house maker, not the work of the architect.

If I can do it, I do not want to work with consciousness of social value and evaluation. A meditation gives courage to such me.
